bad life

The story begins blandly, turns peacefully, is complex, interspersed with narrative, and ends silently and silently.

Everyone comes out with their past and distinct character, motivation. Enrique and Iglesio's childhood affection; Iglesio's final adulthood under the godfather's "bad education"; Iglesio's younger brother Juan's ideal of an actor; the godfather's new lover... All of these mixed together to form a love-hate feud.

But this story, which is already wonderful enough in itself, is still unfolded like a cocoon by Almodovar's master-level narrative technique. Many background explanations in the film are made in a casual, natural and ordinary tone, as if that is what life is like. Indeed, the past has already happened, and it is not worth lamenting. The switching between the drama and the real is so natural that the viewers know that it is a memory one second before, and then it becomes a rehearsal scene. One scene solves the two scenes of the general director.

The colors are very bright, the Spanish kind of color contrast is very bright and clean.

The story is essentially about desire, and people are happy because they satisfy their desires, and they perish. However, the ending is a light weight, and there is no emphasis on justice. Maybe the director understands that there is no absolute justice.

I also don't want everyone to do a character analysis and discuss plot meaning or something. All in all, it is a wonderful script + a film with excellent narrative techniques created by a great director, and it belongs to one of the must-see classics.

Bad Education quotes

  • Ignacio: I think I've just lost my faith at this moment, so I no longer believe in God or hell. As I don't believe in hell, I'm not afraid. And without fear I'm capable of anything.
