I think it was Nick's initial rescue that convinced Leila that the man was safe and comfortable, so she took all her belongings—a small suitcase—and walked out of the mental hospital with the world she had in mind. Leila finally experienced this world after 20 years, this world full of fun and danger, for which she thanked Nick, and in joy she seemed to be relieved from the pain of 20 years, she finally spoke out her inner loneliness. When she was about to be forced to return to the hospital, she found that she had fallen in love with this state of life, this freedom, and specifically, this man. So, the climax of the story came, she gave up another suicide and said without hesitation in front of the doctor, "I love him, I know I love him, because, I know, he is here. In my heart. We danced together, bought tickets, ate ice cream together, shot down little flowers together, we slept in the same bed, stared at the moonlight together, and I could hear his heartbeat." When I thought of this, Leila's heart was truly saved, yes She saved herself, or Nick - "love" saved herself.
Speaking of Nick. He is an unlucky ghost, with a hopeless career and family conflicts, but he has a strong self-esteem. I think he is also ill, and he also needs a comfort and an antidote. So at the right time, at the right place, I met the right person—Leila, and love happened, suddenly and naturally. They understood each other and comforted each other, and in the end they were inseparable.
Sometimes "love" and "hurt" are the same, simple but powerful to occupy people's hearts. But love gives happiness and firmness after all.
