In social life, we always face a variety of pressures, as we know the first is the pressure is survival, people always change our humanity and conscience under survival, but when people find the pursuit of justice and truth, that's difficult to choose their way between survival or justice. Edward Murrow is demonstrating the strength of American democratic tradition and glory of human intellect and courage; also he let us know how to face power and high pressure; and he show us that how huge of brave we need to defend the dignity of history.
In the Murrow's speech, I think Murrow is insightful and his word can use 50 years until now. From newspapers to radio to television and then to the Internet, our media's ideal is still the struggle between entertainment and news. Perhaps the media company is hypocrisy , just care about rating, advertisement fee, and the important is money. And now, many of journalists, only thing they can do is report the news, they don't have their idea, and thinking even emotion. Maybe is hard to find a point to balance what is right or wrong. And sometimes they have to report the news even they knew that is fake. For these reasons, we can understand the media is no longer neutral, they would show their position, they will highly praised when consistent with their position, on the other hand they will increase opposition with their opposition situation.
Murrow pursuit his belief and no matter the how difficult to conflict with McCarthy, however he is not fear, and he believes people will know what is truth and defend McCarthy. I think he's not alone, in the silent support of the entire team, we can see their nervous after the show, I think its Murrow to call back our justice in our mind.
