The lame stuntman's visit to Roy is obviously well-intentioned, but can these remarks make this young scholar who has lived smoothly in life understand the meaning of life? The cripple old man entered the stuntman business in order to make a living, and the protagonist really took risks in order to win the heart, thinking that this would make the mano-like woman turn back. This also confirms the sentence: there is no livelihood, let alone anything else. The more frivolous a person is, the closer he is to destruction.
It seems that this conversation has no effect on Roy, who is determined to die, and he is still contemplating suicide plans.
