Director Sylvia Qomai's first full-length animation is "Crazy Date in Mirador". This is his second full-length animation. When I watched it, I was always puzzled, why is a down-and-out magician willing to pay so much for a little girl who has never met before, is it just because the girl believes in his magic? Maybe this was the first thought? But he's done so much, that alone doesn't make sense. I even thought very wickedly, is this movie about a year-end love? This question was finally answered. The magician let go of the rabbit that accompanied him, gave up his magic hat, but held an old photo of a small baby in his hand. It turned out that it was because of his father's love that he would give everything in this way. Is the girl his daughter? Or was the magician subconsciously treating her as his daughter? The story is not told, leave it to you to guess.
The story is full of nostalgia for tradition and old industries. The clown drags his shriveled body to drink and is no longer happy. He is kicked as a ball by children in the street, and finally prepares to perform to the cheerful sound of his own record. End of life; ventriloquism performers had to sell their beloved puppets, wandering the streets, the only one who threw him money was a magician, and the puppets were not even given away for free, sitting alone in the window. If there is no girl, the magician may be just like them. It is the girl who is willing to believe in magic that makes the magician keep performing until the girl completes the transformation from girl to woman and finds love. Leave the girl a note that says "There are no magicians in the world".
Some people may feel sorry and puzzled that the magician finally gave up magic and left the girl. Although the whole story is full of nostalgia for traditional industries, it seems a little old-fashioned. But some things are bound to go away, just like the magician can't stay by the girl's side forever, he left the hope and the future to the girl. He doesn't need to do magic anymore, because girls are the best magic he has ever done in his life.
