The mad World drives us all nuts, so what?

A movie about depression, but not at all depressed. In fact, it is superficial but not profound, because I see myself and many shadows around me in the movie.

The world is indifferent and crazy, like a giant machine, rumbling at the core of a system we can't see, and then destroying many people's dreams, many people's beliefs, and many people's lives. We all feel that we can do too little and lose too much in this world, and we all find that we can change too little and have to accept that we cannot change too much. Helpless, depressed, afraid to imagine tomorrow, this is the living condition of many modern people.

In GRAIG's world, all the responsibilities and pressures that one has to face in the grown-up world seem to destroy the joy of childhood at a speed that destroys the joy of childhood. Death has often become the last paradise for modern people to escape the pain of existence. Unfortunately, death requires courage as much as life, so in the end CRAIG sent himself to a mental hospital, hoping for some kind of quick and effective redemption.

Although it was a mental hospital, I did not feel depressed from the beginning to the end, although the Egyptian grandfather refused to accept this world every day, although BOB attempted suicide 6 times, his wife and son were separated, and although the beautiful little girl had an unknown secret. Everyone there tried to use death as the answer to the dilemma of life, but they all continued to live for some reason. Like people in other corners of the world, they have music, pictures, sunshine and love. In the end, emotion has become their greatest salvation. BOB finally got back on his feet because he wanted to be a father who could accompany his daughter growing up, the Egyptian grandpa finally danced to the music of his hometown, and CRAIG finally understood that the family around him, no matter how they loved him, they at least loved him . And GRAIG finally got married with the beautiful little girl.

A friend once told me that they prefer to be close to inanimate objects rather than people, because emotions are uncontrollable, and emotional damage is also uncontrollable. I think that for many modern people, we need a sense of security piled up with material, and as a Taurus, I feel that way. However, in many of the saddest and most depressing moments, it is not the world that redeems us, but the people in this world, and emotions. Depression is a normal state of modern life, we are just NOT FEEL WELL AT SOME MOMENTS, SO WHAT? So the mental hospital in the film has become a place where people are most genuine and sincere to each other.

After being deeply aware of the cruelty and indifference of the world, those who are frankly depressed and willing to accept this stage of their life and such a person make me feel incomparably warm and want to reach out and hug. In fact, this world is a huge lunatic asylum to some extent, most of us are not SUNNY AND BUBBLING, but DARK AND TWISTED. Facing one's own incompetence calmly is actually a softer power.

I think it's a healthy way to live by embracing a vulnerable and imperfect self and giving yourself enough courage and confidence to heal slowly. In the face of the facts that cannot be changed, in the face of the missed or lost emotions, with the scars of life, we can cry loudly instead of holding our heads proudly, as long as we remember to move forward proudly after crying. Stop to touch those wounds, stop to wipe away sad tears, we deserve to be treated like that.

Many times, seeing your wounds is just the beginning of recovery. However, beliefs about love and dreams, no matter how insignificant, may be the last light that supports us out of the predicament.

WE R EITHER BUSY BEING BORN OR DYING.

It's Kind of a Funny Story quotes

  • Noelle: You know, Vampire Weekend's doing a show at the end of the month. Would you wanna go?

Craig: Yes, I would! With you, right?

Noelle: No, with Solomon. Yeah, with me!

  • Craig: Seeing someone lose it like that. You know, it reminded me of how I feel sometimes. Like I'm on the verge of just blowing up. All the stress and pressure and anxiety just bubbling up. But I'm never able to let it out like that. You know, I just keep it inside.
