At the beginning of the film, when George's identity may be exposed, he does not hesitate to shoot and kill the woman who has been lingering with him all night. At the end of the film, George clutches his wounds and drives to his favorite prostitute. He promised to take her away, together, forever. As she fell on the steering wheel in front of her, the car horn blared for a long time.
