This is a story that is obviously not exciting enough, and the narration is very lame. After reading it, I have no recollection. Maybe I am harsh, but I have tried my best to find something wonderful. The meaning is ambiguous, and everything you see is personal grudge, hatred, killing, and tears, but it is far from sensational. I can't find the majestic spirit of Shaolin, the national awe-inspiring, and what is more affordable is that Chen Musheng set aside almost every important person's sensational scenes when he died, but he heard ridicule and chuckle in the theater from time to time. The outline of the whole story is weak, the lines are unclear, and almost all rely on stunts, scenes support the scene, neither the full description of the characters, nor the analysis of the ups and downs of the storyline. I still remember that in the forest of old and young people, in the national righteousness, there is a faint sense of love between sons and daughters, and the true love of the same family. In the warmth that I feel, there is deep faith and firmness, and the love is sincere, so the years are still enduring.
And in this new work, I really can't see the Shaolin spirit that the film keeps shouting, and I can't see the atmosphere of this so-called hero who sacrificed his family for the country and the nation. I'm not touched at all, I don't even think about it. He got up, betrayed his brother for more than 20 years, abandoned his wife and became a monk, the Shaolin catastrophe, and started killing people. That paragraph of Lao Liu's strength and bravery towards the people made me sneer and send out the word "hypocritical"!
Speaking of actors, Lao Liu hasn't released a good movie for a long time. He is a stand-in and his punches are soft. In fact, after Infernal Affairs, Lao Liu's dramas are all dead. Wu Jing played very beautifully. The only person in this drama that made me think it was worth watching was him. Unfortunately, he always lost to a mediocre and rough film. Nicholas Tse's Cao Man fits his name. Like a commander, he is a ruffian. Xie Sheng's acting skills have indeed improved, and he has won his life. Unfortunately, his strength is dislocated and he is full of evil spirits. No matter how you look at it, it is not comfortable enough. How could Yu Shaoqun's creamy appearance be a Shaolin monk? ! My first reaction was young Tang Monk! Jackie Chan's Henan dialect, which I was about to spit out, only made the whole theater burst into bursts of laughter. Only Yu Hai, I still like it, the scene of the death of the abbot, behind the warlord corpses piled up into mountains to block the escape of fellow villagers, still makes me feel a little bit, but, killing, in Shaolin, is it so casual? !
The director system, Shi Yongxin, does not explain, and has no way of explaining it. I am disappointed. I was as disappointed as I set foot on Shaoshi Mountain in Dengfeng last October and saw the Shaolin Temple, incense, copper coins, and performances in this century-old temple! From then on, Lixue Pavilion, Bodhidharma and a reed crossing the river, the three Shaolin Temples that are as sacred and neat as regular script, are only in my far-reaching imagination.
The only bright spot in the film, for me, is about four Shaolin children with beautiful skills. It's a pity that Wu Jing is a good actor and all his beautiful fight scenes, and it's a pity that Shi Yan can wear real Shaolin Kung Fu!
I can't help but be disappointed, it's too far from the Shaolin in my heart! I still miss the fresh and graceful but full of pride "Shaolin, Shaolin!" more than 20 years ago, and also miss the "Shepherd's Song" that makes people smile brightly.
