It turned out to be a dislike, almost nothing at all. Although it is a subject of interest, although the cast is good, although it is my preferred life film. . . . . . .
The only thing I'm not happy with is its plot setting. I don't understand why a movie with such a plot would be classified as a comedy? Is it because most gay-themed movies are too serious or even heavy, so this one is relatively light? Or is it because of a happy ending? ?
Maybe because I'm a member of the gay community, I really, really don't like stories where gays are attracted to the opposite sex and then something happens. It doesn't work for gays or les, and it doesn't work for mental or physical attraction. Being too critical and too perfectionist also made me unable to accept the arrangement that Nic's heartbreak was immediately unraveled after Jules sincerely apologized and finally returned to a happy family. From Jules and Paul's first kiss, I was guessing how Nic knew how to react, how the film would end, and I even kept imagining how I would decide if I was in Nic's place (well I admit I am Both kids have no interest). The ending of the relationship between the two in the film does restore life faithfully to a large extent - they have been together for so many years and have children, most ordinary couples will choose to continue to be together, not to mention the rare same-sex couple. But I'm still unhappy. . . . . . ! No matter what the result is, I'm not happy ╰_╯
PS. Julianne Moore is getting old too fast. I still felt deeply that she is a beautiful woman a few years ago ╮(╯3╰)╭
