Banksy was the first contemporary artist that I really liked, I know it's the thought that counts for modern art. But the ideas of the previous artists just didn't fit with me, and I couldn't help it until Banksy, just started contacting His work is the pulp fiction one, and it was love at first sight. I like him because he has a great sense of humour, and this movie proves it even more. But what really makes me respect him is his work in west bank. The images of little girls with balloons rising and a corner of the blue sky contain simple and powerful messages. Of course, I am talking about this nonsense at a long time, just want to prove two points, one It's because he knows how to make jokes, and secondly, he has a genius for irony. And part of this movie is that he jokes about himself, and ironies the art world, both of which he does perfectly, although I only gave this movie 5 stars, but in my heart it deserves 10 stars :)))
The first half of the movie is really interesting and really documentary, I didn't have much feeling for the space invader and Monsieur Andre's paintings before, but after watching this movie, it seems that I'm going to like all the street artists soaring. The first thing I saw was that there were so many ugly urban spaces in France, of course, but I'm just a tourist I've only seen beautiful places, and what most street artists do is Let the residents of the city suddenly see a piece of color, a smiley face, and a joke on the familiar, boring or even ugly street every day. What a beautiful day (I tried this, and I accidentally saw a suspected Banksy in Bristol) The works, the mood is immediately good). The second is that their adventurous spirit touched me. They let everyone watch art for free, but they also risked going to jail or their lives. What kind of spirit is this! The third highlight is when it comes to the west bank, I suddenly wake up, of course, street art sometimes the painting itself is not the most important, what matters is which *wall* it occupies! ! ! (the canvas has taken over the picture.) What a wonderful irony, although this is not a new idea, but I only thought of it today with hindsight.
Halfway through, Banksy really started to lead the movie, and then it became a mockumentary. As a fan of spinal tap, I can only say that I feel very high. Suddenly Banksy said, from the second half, you will be the artist , I will be the director.
Then Thierry started doing it like Andy Warhol got on his upper body. He said that others would engage in Part Amusement, and he would engage in Art Amusement. I actually appreciate this idea. (I can only say that many things that interest me now have to be funny, because there are so many things in the world that can make you cry, but very few things can make you laugh. Of course this is just my own opinion, so As soon as I heard the word amusement, I was so excited.) Then Thierry paid people to make a lot of replicas. He didn't think that things that weren't drawn by himself couldn't be called his own work. He is so fearless. His spirit is really speechless (you see, his cousin space invader doesn't even want to comment on him.) Then he actually built his Art Amusement, he should be considered a success, probably, anyway, he let people in Seeing the works of more than n artists in one show is indeed a bit like Las Vegas, where people can see the world's buildings in one city. Then the air heads in LA came after him (I think this part really happened) and then a truly valuable art was created: Although Mr. Brainwash's own work has no artistic value, Project Mr. Brainwash, Banksy's shitty work, has real value.
Finally, my own two opinions on this movie:
First, I tend to think that Thierry is not very aware of it (that is, he is really stupid), but Banksy should not be aware of it before the show as in the movie, He should have been following Mr. Brainwash's movements, recording all those hilarious scenes.
Second, when it comes to Mr. Brainwash's work, it's not completely worthless. In the end, he sprayed life is beautiful on the wall, and then let a bulldozer knock down the wall. It's still a great idea. I suggest him to go Do performance art! ! (What? He's already doing it!! Right, isn't he doing this all the time...(Forgive my hindsight XP))
