The Rabbit Hole of Life

Remember the mysterious rabbit hole in Alice's dream? It was a paradise where little Alice could imagine her wild and unrestrained imagination. The illusion in the hole was real to Alice. Only by walking into that rabbit hole could she find the meaning of life.
Now, this little girl's dream rabbit hole has been brought to the movie by Nicole Kidman, and it has become an outlet for a life of pain relief in the adult world.
People will experience a lot of pain in their life, and painful things often come suddenly. Becca (Nicole Kidman) and Howie (Aaron Eckhart) have an adorable son, Danny, who was left behind by his loving parents at the age of four because of a sudden car accident. Danny didn't take the pain away when he left, but left it intact to the couple. Becca became withdrawn, irritable, and hysterical, and Howie, the mainstay of the family, could only hide in her room every day, secretly watching videos of her son's death. The couple didn't know how to deal with their future life. They thought they would be able to break free by joining a psychological group. They thought that as long as they were stronger, they would be able to pretend that nothing happened, but it didn't help. Memories torture them every day as always, and there is still no hope for the future. Crying, arguing, being strong, running away, it seems that there is no way to get rid of it, and God is still stingy to hide the rabbit hole under the tree. But as long as the rabbit hole really exists, people will find it one day, and they will go into the hole with joy after falling painfully through the hole. The film ends with the couple sitting in the garden, holding each other's hands, waiting for their rabbit hole to emerge...
The film mentions a physical theory - parallel universes, also known as multi-cosmology. Although this is a physical theory, I prefer to look at it from a philosophical point of view. There may be many parallel versions of the vast universe we see. Now I am writing, and there may be crying, laughing, sleeping, and eating snacks around me, but I can't see them because of the different electromagnetic fields. In physics, this is just a hypothetical theory, and what really exists is its possibility. But this possibility can bring great relief to us in this universe. Just like Becca in the play, her life has fallen into a low point, but when she knew that there might be another parallel universe, she was suddenly comforted, because this world is not only a sad Becca like her, there will be happy ones , happy Becca, with that happy version, this sad life will become more meaningful. I am willing to look at this parallel universe from a philosophical point of view, because in the philosophical world, anything can be true, and as long as it can be logically established, it exists. I believe that multiple universes exist. As long as I look at it with my heart, I can see me in different time and space with joy, sorrow and sorrow. I've become my bystander, and my life will be cuter!
Pain will always come, and happiness will come one day. Only the continuous interweaving of the two can weave a beautiful life. I had the first happiness in my life, and when the first pain in my life, there will be a second, a third, a fourth... As long as the rabbit hole is always there, I will be brave Go on, as long as there is a happy me in the parallel universe, I am willing to be the sad version...

Rabbit Hole quotes

  • [last lines]

    Becca: [voice-over] And then what?

    Howie: [voice-over] I don't know... Something though.

  • Nat: You know, Becca, when your brother died, I found the church very helpful.

Becca: I know. I know you did, but that's you. That's not me, and Danny... Danny isn't Arthur.

Nat: You know, I brought you to church every Sunday.

Becca: Let's not start this again, okay, Mom? I'm just... I'm just calling about the cake.

Nat: You're not right about everything, you know? What if there is a God?

Becca: Then I'd say he's a sadistic prick.

Nat: All right, Becca, that's enough.

Becca: "Worship me and I'll treat you like shit." No wonder you like him. He sounds just like Dad.
