always get married.

Three stars for this film, plus one star for the novel itself.

Jane Austen's novels are great for building confidence in young women. In addition to turning into Lala, becoming a mistress and becoming a stepmother, the female literary youths can still marry well and return the family to both of them. No matter how beautiful you are, how bad you are when you have no money, and what is wrong with leftover women, there will always be a man with a good-looking family and a strong family who can talk to you and burst into feelings.

Ah, it's always possible to marry. (…)

Let’s take a look at this movie = =.

Not pretty actors are a big plus. Compared with the phantom Pride and Prejudice in 05 and the handsome guys and beauties in Sense and Sensibility of 95 version, the actors of this Persuasion are really not so good in appearance (Are Anne's actors selected according to Emma Thompson = =?).

So just focus on acting. At the beginning of the film, the heroine is given a big face close-up. From time to time, there will be close-ups of various people's facial details. It should be quite scary to watch on the big screen. From time to time, the heroine will suddenly look up at the camera, from the unease when writing the diary at the beginning, to the pain at the back, to the confident smile at the end, the eyes are very different each time. This is handled well.
After watching it for a long time, I think Wentworth is actually quite handsome. It's a pity that they didn't call when they were together. Just don't call, alas.

The plot is more in line with the original. But I still feel that the twists and turns are too fast and there are no highs and lows (this is the characteristic of JA novels...). Especially the part where Louisa jumped the stairs, she jumped for no reason, the audience who haven't read the book will be very depressed (but to be honest, is there any comrades who haven't read the book who would be willing to watch this movie...even if you do? Asleep...). Also, it was really orz to let Anne Wanli run wild in the end. Although I understand that this is to reflect from the side that this woman has changed from passively accepting reality to becoming firm and striving to pursue happiness, it is too perverted. . .

The thing I want to complain about the most is the clothes. Why do you want Anne to dress like that? In order to reflect her hardship and simplicity, or out of place or the protagonist? The other Miss's dresses are very decent and can reflect her identity. Why does Anne dress like a maid, but also make a big red and green match? The only thing that looked past was the one she wore in the room. . . pajamas? shirt?

Just thought so much. Persuasion is my third favorite JA novel, not sure why. This movie is hardly a classic, but I believe I will review some of the clips in the future, for example, Anne's various eyes, which gave me courage to some extent.

Persuasion quotes

  • Sir Walter Elliot: I must say, though, the worst of Bath is the number of plain women. I frequently observe that one pretty face would be followed by five and thirty frights.

  • Captain Wentworth: [distressed and avoiding making eye contact] I have been charged by the Admiral... That is Admiral Croft has been confidently informed that Mr. Elliot... That everything is now set in your family for a marriage between yourself and Mr. Elliot. It was added that you were to live at Kellynch. The Admiral wished me to say that if this is the case that his lease will be canceled and he and my sister will find themselves another house... What answer should I give the Admiral

Anne Elliot: You will please thank the Admiral for me, but I must tell you that he is utterly misinformed.

[Capt Wentworth suddenly makes eye contact]

    Captain Wentworth: [hopeful] Misinformed? Utterly?

    Anne Elliot: Quite mistaken.

Captain Wentworth: No truth in any of it?

    Anne Elliot: None.
