On a winter night eight years ago, on Gulangyu Island, I watched "Sex and Lucia" alone with the electric heater on for my feet. In the later films, I always felt that there was no such amazing thing, which made me a little confused. I don’t know if I still like it as much now, so I watched it again.
Because it was the second time, because I had eight years to experience life, I saw more things in the film, and I still say, this is a good film.
Nudity is a common thing in European films, and it is not concealed. American films are full of provocation in concealment. They shoot sex for provocation, while European films show the plot through sex, but are generous and calm. "Sex and Lucia" is of course the same, large-scale gorgeous sex, used to express love, but also used to develop the story.
This amazing director, who wrote and directed a compelling story, loves his feel more, and I really enjoy the way he expresses the story and emotion.
He depicts human nature with the most ingenious plots, and because of human nature, the inevitable accident in reality becomes an irreversible necessity. Everyone in the film was emotionally tortured. Lucia exposed herself to the scorching sun; the writer had nowhere to escape from her inner self-hatred under the sun and the gusting wind; Elena used the stories compiled by netizens to avoid it. Pain; the writer incarnates as a netizen to carry out ineffective self-redemption; there are also babysitters and dog owners who are involved in this bottomless whirlpool, spinning and sinking, unable to extricate themselves... The audience is also deeply involved, when all this is unknown When it's time to go, all the plots depicted in a realistic way are suddenly hollowed out through a hole, as if they all come from a new book written by the author. Why bother to pursue what is true and what is false? Real is the emotion you experience. This is art.
Eight years ago, I didn't have the courage to face the tragedy, so at that time I was willing to believe in the end of the story, and I could only bear it if it started anew. Now, I know more about the escapism and cowardice of human nature, and I would rather accept the reality that people meet and escape from reality.
Plus, that beautiful picture, each of them is a moving, Spanish-style painting with bright colors and bright light. I can't tell you how to express the plot, but you won't enjoy it so much when you watch it. There is a person who died in the whole movie. You can go and see how the director expresses the death of this person. Yes, beautiful to the point of distress.
