an unstoppable movie

■Reason for the evaluation: Jiang Wen put down abstraction and obscurity, and had fun with the audience. Probably the funniest Lunar New Year movie, and it should be the best local movie of the year.

■One sentence comment: Everyone can understand and everyone can laugh. Whether it's a galloping horse or a train, as soon as the horse's hooves rise and the wheels spin, Jiang Wen's imagination cannot stop.

(Spoiler Alert! The following content involves plot leaks, which may affect viewing)

When John Woo said, I no longer stop at personal heroic romanticism, so he made "Chibi", and costume blockbusters can also be funny. When Feng Xiaogang said that he never thought he was funny and didn't know what it was, he made a melodrama of petty bourgeoisie love and human relations. For Jiang Wen, he does not need to make redundant explanations. Everyone can watch "Let the Bullets Fly" by themselves, whether it is humorous or romantic, there is no shortage of historical background, and there is a lot of arrogance.

This is a blockbuster that is very different from Chinese blockbusters. It has stars, scenery and pomp, which are not uncommon. More importantly, the film has injected Jiang Wen's author's concept, which is unique, such as those short dialogues and cuts, such as all kinds of funny supporting characters and a bunch of shirtless men. In other words, "Let the Bullets Fly" is not born out of a mature and developed market, but relies more on the director's own extraordinary skills and outstanding abilities. It doesn't look like a specific type of production. Others can only watch it and cannot copy it.

At the end of the ten minutes, after three days and three nights of waiting, "Let the Bullets Fly" has the poetry I am familiar with - like a big dream. Watching Huang Shilang's watchtower territory being swept away by the people of Goose City, Zhang Mazi was very emotional at the carnival scene in front of him. After a peaceful dialogue between the winner and the loser, it was just like the previous dialogue with Ma Bond, which meant that they felt a little sympathetic to each other. Several brothers wanted to quit and go away, Zhang Mazi seemed to have experienced the whole life, and immediately came a sense of vicissitudes of life. Most of the time before, "Let the Bullets Fly" was crazy, not afraid of going too far, and couldn't stop if you wanted to, so it wouldn't leave you much room for thinking. In addition to the soundtrack, Jiang Wen has done everything very well, with all kinds of wits and bravery, countless funny scenes, crackling, and overwhelmed. Most of the characters have distinct personalities, and they can also make full contrasts, such as identity doubts and decision-making judgments, which completely make the audience look down anxiously.

To say that "Let the Bullets Fly" has Jiang Wen's tricks, it doesn't seem to be the case. This time, he didn't play with color or structure. It can be said that he ran away with the commercial army. Huang Shilang jumped into English sentences, and Ma Bond was occasionally caught, including some Sichuan dialect dubbing versions, which seemed to be heading for the general public. But looking back on "Sunny Days" and "The Devils Are Coming", the dialect elements in Jiang Wen's works seem to be never lacking. The most impressive scenes in the film: several brothers went to pay homage to Liuzi, and everyone moved in front of the camera (Breaking the Fourth Wall on the stage of a drama); Zhang Mazi asked who did the bad thing, and each of them These are typical "direct dialogue with the audience", with short time, quick curative effect and excellent effect.

In the process of the opponent's play, "Let the Bullets Fly" also pursues a fast-paced narrative, and does not want to be sloppy. Zhang Mazi and Ma Bond went from enemy to friend in just a few minutes, and it was no more than the time when the alarm clock flew into the sky. Or it is a big reversal, giving you unexpected stimulation. The confrontation between the two bowls of jelly seemed to be boring and made things difficult, but it left a terrifying ending. Because Goose City is not suitable to stay for a long time, Zhang Mazi is racing against time. Keep hitting the wall against the wall, keep starting all over again. Zhang Mazi said "let the bullets fly for a while", which is actually an exaggerated sentence. The speed of the bullet can be imagined, it is not a matter of flying for a while or half a day. This sentence means that after the bullet is fired, don't be impatient, things will change, and everything will be clear to you. Since I came out to hang out, I came to the city to play, and if I wanted to do it, I would do a big job.

Due to the existence of the background of troubled times, "Let the Bullets Fly" is a movie without good people. The main characters are bandits, bullies, liars, and the supporting characters are prostitutes and thugs. To survive in a chaotic world, you can't walk by sticking two big characters on your forehead (think about the debt collector mother and son). Everyone relies on real skills, either with guns, brains, or bodies. Maybe Jiang Wen also realized that he lacked the image of a good person in the popular sense, so Zhang Mazi was full of doubts from the moment he appeared. Fortunately, after a conversation with Ma Bond, he also disclosed his military experience in the first half of his life, which gave the film a sense of history.

In the whole movie, there are a lot of crazy things, like the white-pink women at the collective drum-beating ceremony, the crazy Wu Ju and fake Zhang Mazi. Correspondingly, Jiang Wen's masculine romance has not diminished, with endless bullets and silver everywhere. In the absence of a better way, a group of people slamming the iron gate is a forced outbreak, waiting for the long-awaited turnaround. Just as Leone has the ability to make his movies three or four hours long without making people feel too long, and just as Quentin has the ability to make the tastes of the tuberculosis violent maniac, foot fetish, record fan and so on explode, I don't think the film The narcissistic tendency revealed in the film is a bad thing. After all, Jiang Wenneng can direct and act, but among Chinese directors, it is impossible to divide the belonging group. Or to put it that way, he and his work are unique. 【Beijing Youth Daily】

Not surprising, but surprising. The story can't stand scrutiny, the characters are not full, and a few supporting roles are completely reduced to supporting roles. The so-called jokes are on the same level as the sketches at various parties. From the inside, you can still see the shadow of "The Devil is Coming", but you can't find that kind of stunning. Dozed off at the cinema again.
