Hellcats Episode 1 (A World Full of Strangers) Marti Perkins is a Lancer University law student whose recent scholarship application was rejected. Too bad the irresponsible mother forgot to tell her about it. Marti has no father, and her mother works in a school bar for a small salary. If he loses the scholarship, Marti will have to take a leave of absence. But another piece of news let her see the light: If she can squeeze into the "Hellcats", the cheerleader of the school football team, she can get an unconditional full scholarship. "Hellcats" episode 10, "Pledging My Love," a disgraceful photo of Alice spreads around the campus, making Alice very embarrassed. In Hellcats episode 11, after the car accident, Dan gives Marti an "ultimatum": either admit she has feelings for him, or end their friendship entirely. Marti "invites" Savannah to a picnic in order to make fun of it. Trouble ensues as Savannah drinks too much, flirts with the DJ dizzy. Marti decides to tell Savannah the truth about herself and Dan.

Hellcats Season 1, Episode 12, Marti follows the Hellcat cheerleaders to a regional competition, but the air around her gets tense after she admits she's in a relationship with Dan. Alice's father decides to watch his daughter perform, unaware that his daughter has broken up with Lewis and is no longer the "flyer" of the team. Alice worriedly told Lewis about it.
