weird charm

Thanks to the outdated cheesy translation, I thought it was a lighthearted and fun romantic comedy from the early 80s. But I forgot: it was a James Spader movie. The film begins and continues in a sensitive, tense, restless, and thin-ice atmosphere. After the heroine meets the eccentric boss, this atmosphere is even worse, and it develops in an uncontrollable and indescribable direction. Two seemingly ordinary people form a soul mate in an odd way every day. This is their luck.
In fact, everyone is a freak.

The lens, tone, plot, and atmosphere all show that Spielberg wants to copy David Lynch and engage in an absolutely rebellious journey of spiritual healing. There is no perfect relationship, only the person who is right for you. There is no such thing as love, only love or not. When S meets M, it may seem strange and incomprehensible to others, but to them, it is not a romantic love fairy tale.
