Schlesinger's films are all to my liking, this one is as great as the "Honey" I've seen before. Needless to say, the performances of the two male protagonists are too NB. The director said that he likes the scene where Joe wipes the sweat of Rizzo, who is sick and feverish, and Rizzo is standing on Joe's waist. Me too, it's too warm. Yes, it's so moving.
The hippie party at the end of this film (according to the producer, the director was influenced by Andy Warhol's star "Factory") is very similar to the crazy dance at the end of the director's previous "Dear". Expresses the director's views on Hollywood and American society in the 1960s.
