The false pursuit of the true self!

Halfway through the film, I sensed that stupid urge that all successful commercial directors in Hollywood have at their fingertips - they want this poor father to tell the truth! The reason is very simple, and it is also the consistent film review principle of the SARFT: the theme must be positive! This seems to be negative in the film, but in fact, the positive and harmonious ending of TMD ruins everything before the film.
Do you really need such a hypocritical deduction? ! Does anyone really want to make this world without lies? Has anyone thought about this rationally? Eliminating lies is as ridiculous as those street aunts who want to eradicate the four evils. Whether you admit it or not, a lie is just as real as what you eat and pull out. Lies are also divided into good and bad; big and small; good and bad. Don't see a lie and immediately move out of the "knock down theory" that your parents and teachers taught you when you were a child. Don't always feel that if you tell a lie, you will become a hypocrite, and you will become a hypocritical bad person. If you insist on doing this, I tell you, you may have to make up a bigger lie to deceive yourself, so that you can spend the rest of your life split and split with an "I'm a good guy" at heart.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the father in the movie insisting on this lie. He didn't hurt anyone, on the contrary he helped a lot of people, including himself. The only thing that hurts is the "liar is not a good boy" theory that some people espouse.
The son in the movie is basically a piece of crap. When his father told the truth, I felt like the subtext was saying, rubbish is rubbish, stop dreaming, if you're messing around like my son, you're rubbish too. There can be nothing deep inside of you. Your only luck is in the right way when masturbating! Look how good it is to tell the truth! FK!
At the end of the film, it is thought that letting his father tell the truth will make him no longer hypocritical. In fact, it allowed him to start a more hypocritical life from then on. If you don’t believe me, you have been telling the truth from now on and never telling lies. I am sure you will receive an invitation to the SB club soon!

Kyle: What? You think that they're fucking? Andrew, Andrew, you have to understand that fucking pussy's virgin shit, alright?

  • Lance Clayton: I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is ending up with people who make you feel all alone.
