The film tells the story of an accomplished couple, the hero George Rowland is a well-known talk show host, and his wife Anna is the editor of the publishing house. Since a certain day, they have been continuously receiving reel of secretly filmed videotapes, the content of which includes the living environment around them, including their doorstep and George's hometown. And when all the videotapes were sent, there were pictures of vomiting blood or slitting their throats, which made the couple suspect that everything was done by acquaintances. They trigger a series of inner fears, family crises, and are forced to revisit their childhood.
The first 100 minutes of the film can be said to be quite calm or even dull. But without any warning, a scene suddenly appeared that made me stunned. Looking back on that scene now, my stomach is still wriggling.
The film comes to an abrupt end with subtitles after a long shot of my son leaving school. By the end we don't know who is threatening the protagonist's life, but the camera is still there. Maybe this is the true meaning of hiding.
