lion in cornfield

Similar to BIG FISH, very full, but more compact than the big fish story. The ending design of the film is even better than the blue - "Are they realy alive?" asked by the little boy of the grandson of the wealthy chief.
Something isn't true, that's no reason that you can't believe in ti.
Sometimes the things that may or may not be true, are the things that a man needs to believe in the most.
That people are basically good. The honour ,courage and virtue man everything.
The kid and the lion in the cornfield make the whole film emotional.

Secondhand Lions refers not only to the old lions in the movie, but also to the two old people (secondhand means secondhand, symbolizing the boy's understanding of the two heroic brothers who were once "African lions", from others narration). But whether it is an animal or a human, even if it is "second-hand", even if it is old, the heroism of the past will still be revealed in the words and deeds of the present. Secondhand Lions quotes

  • [last lines]

Sheik's Great Grandson: So, these two men from your grandfather's stories, they really lived?

Adult Walter: [wistfully] Yeah, they really lived...

  • Garth: The Sheik *knew* that he would sure die now, without even the right to beg for mercy... But Hub just said "Twice I have held your life in my hands. And twice I have given it back to you. The next time..."

Young Hub: Your life is mine!
