2001-2010

In 2001, I saw a clip of a play, and I was completely attracted and wanted to chase it. At that time, it was called the West Wing of the White House. For various reasons, it was not pursued at the time, and it has been delayed and forgotten since then. In 2010, I finally remembered this drama, and I found this drama, which aired its first episode in 1999, and it has been silently out for seven seasons.
Crossed, really crossed. When I watch it, I still feel regret, politics, inspiration, and dreams. I liked these elements even more in 2001. At that time, I still had the courage to change the world. At that time, I still had the fantasy of being like a person in the West Wing.
Looking at it now, I only pay attention to unreal fragments, beautified facts, and no longer have the passion to empathize. Not seeing the right drama at the right time is also a kind of sadness.
The suspense left to myself is, can I finish the seven seasons and put an end to the expectations of 9 years ago?

The West Wing quotes

  • Reporter: Would the White House care to comment on the expected contrast between the high degree of organization and discipline in the Republican Convention and the Democrats' anticipated free-for-all?

Annabeth Schott: I believe the American people will be the beneficiaries, in that they will be presented with a clear choice: do they want to be governed by people who are animated, or animatronic?

  • Sen. Arnold Vinick: [closing remarks at Republican Convention] My commitment to strive to be worthy of the example of the great men who have gone before. Presidents walk in giant footsteps. They have magnificent legacies to uphold. I stand here on this day and put my name forth, as one who aspires to their example, who will daily make that sacrifice, who will honor not just the office, but the people that office serves. *Their* President of these United States of America.
