It's another film that has nothing to do with sexual orientation. The protagonist is still a male or female. What's even more unbelievable is that the movie is actually based on real events, and most of the plot in the play is real. Steven Russel, who has escaped prison four times in five years, has an ever-changing identity, the only constant is his true love for Phillip Morris.
Jim Carrey's acting skills are superb, and Ewan McGregor's role is small, but he is very good, and his shy, charming and affectionate expression is really cute. In reality, Phillip is only five feet two inches tall, a full foot shorter than Steven's height, and despite being a little silly, diabetic and foolishly eating chocolates and donuts, makes Steven love him infinitely. No wonder Steven would escape him time and time again, lest anyone in the world know that he loves Phillip.
My favorite scene is when Steven moves into the Phillp cell and they dance quietly to the music in the dark, cramped cell. No matter how hard the prisoners were beating outside, or the helpless reality of the two being imprisoned in prison, they just danced quietly, letting the youth of love bloom in their little world.
In the film, Steven took Phillip to Key West for vacation, the beautiful Key West, the southernmost island in the United States, Hemingway's hometown, and a gay paradise. Played there for a day last year and fell in love with the place, the sunny beaches and lush tropical plants, beautiful like paradise.
If this is a comedy film, there are not too many laughs, but there are still a lot of bright spots, the shape of the clouds in the sky, the bread in the basket, and even the graffiti on the account book, all intentionally or unintentionally become Pattern of male genitalia. Jim Carrey's usual exaggerated facial expressions are a strong guarantee of "comedy". However, I would rather treat this movie as an adult fairy tale love story. In reality, when we all gradually become like walking dead in the reinforced concrete forest, and the love we once believed in has gradually become boring, there is such a beautiful Fairy tales remind us to believe in love again, and the warmth in our hearts is inexplicably raised. I would like to believe that fairy tales will one day become reality, no matter how old-fashioned the story is, please tell it to me, and I will never get tired of it.
