A single man...fear of growing old of being alone.

The following passage about Fear is quite touching.

Of course the Nazis were wrong to hate the Jews. But they hated the Jews not without a cause. It's just the cause wasn't real. The cause was imagined. The cause was fear. Let's lead the Jews out of this just for a moment.

Think of another minority, one that can go unnoticed if it needs to. There're all sorts of minorities, blondes, for example, people with freckles.

"Minorities" is only thought of as one when it comes to constitute some kind of threat to the majority, a real threat or an imagined one. And there in lies the fear.

If that minority is somehow invisible, and the fear is much great. And that fear is why the minority is persecuted. And so you see there is all this cause. The cause is fear. “Minorities” is just people. People like us.

I can see I've lost you a bit.

I'll tell you what. Forget about Mr. Huxley today. We're gonna talk about fear.

Fear after all is our enemy. Fear is taking over our world. Fear is been used as a tool of manipulation in our society. It's our politicians peddle policy. It's our Madison Avenue sell things we don't need. Think about it, the fear of being attacked, the fear of there're communists loafing around every corner, the fear of a little Caribbean country that doesn't believe in our way of life poses a threat to us, the fear of the black culture may take over the world, the fear of Elvis Presley's Hips, actually maybe that one is real fear, fears that our bad breath may ruin our friendships, fear of growing old of being alone, fear that we're useless that no one cares what we have to say.

If you are afraid of being alone all your life, why go on alone?
