Very disappointed (slight spoilers)

While watching a movie together, I suddenly saw "The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor". This is the movie I've been looking forward to for a long time. Originally, I thought I could see it in the cinema during the summer vacation, but unfortunately it will not be released in August. I'm very obsessed with the first two of it. It can be said that a large part of my liking for Egypt is influenced by this movie. Think about the mysterious country in Egypt, the unsolvable mysteries, the breathtaking mummies, the majestic pyramids, the yellow sand, and the ancient spells, wow...so fascinating...

hopeful for myself Just a medieval explorer, don't need high technology, because that kind of exploration is scientific and procedural, and what you want is the kind of chaos and confusion. Alas, I am destined not to be an explorer, but to find that kind of thrilling in movies.

I don’t know if it’s because of the Chinese people, but the stuff of Qin Shi Huang’s mausoleum has long been unattractive to me, so when I watched the film, I always felt it was fake, maybe it was too familiar, and there was no mystery. Although the scene is not bad, the imperial mausoleum in Ningxia (it's strange why it is in Ningxia), the feasting in old Shanghai, and the snow in Shangri-La seem to be talked about by foreigners. But for me, I only think that Shangri-La's comparison is more colorful, because I saw a kind of peculiar stuff---Snowman in the Himalayas. They are more eye-catching, of course not that they are cute, but they are more refreshing to look at than the Terracotta Warriors. Going back and forth, I still follow the old routine of the second part. There are many flaws in the plot. The screenwriter seems to have shot it to complete a scene, and there is no innovation. It is nothing more than piecing together some Chinese elements in it. In this regard, is obviously doing a good job in this regard, at least the image of A Bao is a household name in the world. Not to mention the protagonist, Jet Li, you don't look like a vicious guy. Every time he takes a shot, he feels boring. I might as well watch the snowman more. Brandon Fraser is even more relegated to a "supporting role" without the flexibility and domineering of the first and second films. Talking about the love between father and son also makes people feel very twisted. The funny uncle I liked very much, Jonathan, had very few jokes in it, and strongly protested the director. The love between Liang Luoshi and John Hanna was also so-so, not profound or touched, thinking to himself, this Englishman's love is too fast, he fell in love with someone else when he saw it, he was confused. But it's not easy. After all, it's not a romantic movie. The movie has to shoulder adventure, thriller, sci-fi, love... It really can't be explained clearly in two hours.

After reading it, I always feel that it is too imitative. Let's not say that it is suspected of "piracy" of the first two films, but the plot inside is imitating Jie>.....Anyway, if you look closely, I always feel like it's like seven. Fortunately, I didn't waste ¥30 to go to the cinema, so I decided to enjoy "Chibi (Part 2)", which is powerful enough and enough for the Three Kingdoms!

Liang Luoshi was so tender at the time!

Some computer stunts are a little off. And I don't like too many gunfire handovers. The action part, especially the car chase in Shanghai, is wonderful! -- 2008-8-2

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor quotes

  • Jonathan Carnahan: Much as I'd like to stay this boyishly handsome forever, Shangri-La is a crock.

Rick O'Connell: Yeah, but that's what you used to say about mummies, too, Jon. You did pretty well off it.

    Jonathan Carnahan: Good point.

  • Mad Dog Maguire: Well, any self-respecting pilot would land on the valley floor, but I don't have any self-respect, so, uh, I'll put you down halfway up the mountain.
