This movie taught me the desires of a normal person. Sometimes, it is hard to draw lines between normal and abnormal people. I guess most of us would feel ourselves to be a little bit special and most of us would also assemble each other a little bit.
But when you become abnormal, the notion of a normal people may become crystal clear. Heixia, for instance, was definitely not a normal people. Part of his brain was destroyed , so he can no longer feel pain. He was extensively trained, so he can kill relentlessly. He is a super killing weapon.
But he managed to have a normal life. He worked as a librarian, so he rarely needed to be with people. But he cannot stay away from people as well. He also experienced life by reading. Each piece of paper in those books served like a shell to protect him from the joy, sadness, honor and horror of the real world. He stayed healthy by checking his blood, pulses, and etc, everyday.
No other movies had a definition of normal people as clear as this one. All we see are people who are either workaholic who destroy their own health by overworking, or people who are bored and destroy their own health to have some fun. We value everything else except our own health. We never realize how vulnerable we can be when we have powers.
....things never work in a normal way. The truth is we never value anything until we lost it.....We will stop only if we know that nobody can bring back what we had lost... .
