Suspiria - The Art of Horror: Combining Beauty

A few days ago, I was chatting with my colleagues about horror movies. They couldn't understand why some people like to watch horror movies. Part of it, I think, is an innate fascination with the mysteries and a reluctance to settle for the immutability of the real world.

In fact, there is another point, that is, the artistic value of horror films. That's why I especially liked this Suspiria. This movie reminds me of "The Shining". Few horror films have reached such peaks. The director said he was trying to be innovative, and he certainly did. The film was excellent in every way and left a lasting impression on me.

The colors in this film are so bright and unforgettable. Amazingly, the precise grasp of photography makes this color both eye-catching and terrifying and mysterious.

The same goes for the music (the background music is the film's most iconic soundtrack). The ancient Greek musical instruments are pure in tone, with simple and beautiful melody, and the effect of mixing is constantly added in the later stage, which is amazing! It is rare to hear such beautiful music in a horror film.

The actors are more of a beauty - ballet school, you can imagine. Even among the few male actors, apart from the two disabled ones, another male student and a young boy are very handsome.

All in all, the whole film brings people not only horror, but also a visual and auditory feast.

I think maybe that's what makes this movie so successful: it's a refreshing combination of beauty and horror.

  • Miss Tanner: I had no idea you were so strong willed. I can see that once you make up your mind about something, nothing will change it for you. My compliments.

  • Suzy Bannion: Hey, thanks, my room is really pretty.

Olga: Do you like it? You're sweet, I bet we'll do fine together.

Suzy Bannion: Even if I have the name of a snake?

Olga: Oh, I was just kidding! Don't tell me you're as touchy as Sarah.

    Suzy Bannion: No.
