The source of fearlessness is inner faith

Morgan's acting skills are like flowing water, Mandela's admirable willpower to never give up, and clint eastwood-style old cowboy tough personality. The actors, the subject matter, and the director are all enough to give this film a five-star rating.

Morgan's acting skills are definitely worthy of praise. In these 90 minutes of light and shadow, I once thought that he was Mandela. Whether it is the image, the tone of speech and the solemn expression, it is in line with my imagination of Mandela. I couldn't help but worship him again. No matter any movie or any role, he always easily inspires my love and admiration for him.

Alright, back to the movies. Before watching the movie, I didn't know anything about the background of the story. Therefore, the director uses the details to convey the information bit by bit, and it is not an exaggeration to say that he is quite successful. At the beginning of the film, there is a strong contrasting stadium, with tattered barbed wire on one side and a neat black iron fence on the other. It seems that on both sides of the road one is a developed western country and the other is a backward area in Africa. Disharmony and contradictions like this were at that time. South Africa is everywhere. Black kids cheered Mandela while white coach slammed him as a terrorist. This is the different evaluations given to the same thing by people living in different classes, standing on their own standpoint.

Selecting such a story about the growth of a racially segregated football team and winning awards shows the whole contradiction from the corner of the contradiction. Although there will inevitably be some deliberately provocative scenes, the overall handling is absolutely successful.

As discussed before about the screenwriter and the director, who is more important for the role of the film. I have always believed that a good director can make a touching script that is not very good, and similarly, a bad director can make a good script nondescript.

So, this is a very ordinary story, but a very touching movie.

PS: Regarding the question of whether the New Zealand team's loss in the final that year was due to poisoning, I don't think it is necessary to take it into the movie to investigate. The difference between a movie and a documentary can be that the purpose of the movie is to convey belief, I don't think anyone will go to the movie to trace the facts.

I thought that the clichés were full of stories, but I didn't expect that the clichés could be so wonderful (that is, some scenes were used too much), Eastwood's execution is really awesome. The production is still as good and the actors are strong (especially Freeman, really like). The reality is so legendary, and the film reflects it comprehensively, including so much South African society. Mandela is great and the spirit of Invictus lives on.

Morgan Freeman is Mandela plus Eastwood and all the celestial spirits have come out. When is the beginning of Chinese football, does it have to wait for Li Chengpeng to be the chairman?

Invictus quotes

  • Linga Moonsamy: Morning, Madiba

Nelson Mandela: [jogging with bodyguards] How are you?

    Linga Moonsamy: Fine, thanks.

    Hendrick Booyens: Morning, sir.

Nelson Mandela: How is your family, Hendrick?

Hendrick Booyens: Top shape, sir. How about yours?

[Madiba stops running, and looks at Hendrick]

Nelson Mandela: [weary] I have a very large family, 42 million. I don't think I'll walk today.

    [goes back inside]

Linga Moonsamy: We never, never ask him about his family.

Hendrick Booyens: But he asks us about ours all the time!

Linga Moonsamy: Hey, think about it, man. He's separated from his wife, his children. How often do you see them here, huh? He's not a saint, okay? He's a man, with a man's problems. He doesn't need us reminding him about them.

  • Francois Pienaar: Come boys. What the heck are we doing? Lomu is killing us. Forwards, we must start scrumming. We must disrupt them at the first phase. Can't allow Lomu to get the ball in space. He's freaking killing us. But listen, if Lomu gets the ball, whoever's there... James, Joost... hit the fucking guy, hold onto him, hold him. Help will come, help will be there.
