Who would you like to have the feast of life with?

"Julie and Julia" tells two essentially unrelated stories. Half a century ago, a woman named Julia came to France with her husband who was an embassy staff member. The completely unfamiliar environment made her unable to find the value of life, and then she became fascinated by cooking, and her strong interest and enthusiasm prompted her. As she continued to learn, she eventually wrote a classic recipe that was sold well in the United States. Half a century later, a young woman named Julie also moved to a dilapidated apartment in Brooklyn, New York because of her husband's work relationship. The huge social pressure made this 9-to-5 clerk unable to find the value of life. When she discovered the joy of cooking, she started her own food blog, planning to spend a year reinterpreting Jolie's classic recipes from half a century ago in her own way. After experiencing joy and loss, Julie finally understands that her love of cooking is a means to change her life, not life itself. After watching the whole film, I found that "Julie and Julia" is a movie about food, a movie about small dreams, and a movie about love.

Love is respect. Julia, who was new to France, didn't know what to do. She tried the skills that housewives usually learned, and found that she was not interested. Her husband Paul asked her, Julia, what is your favorite thing to do? She answered without hesitation: Eat! Most husbands wouldn't hold out much hope if they heard their wife say that, but Paul just smiled, like every time he sat next to Julia and watched her taste the food seriously. He respects Julie's inner thoughts and never shapes Julie according to his own standards. This reminds me of a sentence I wrote the other day: The one who really loves you gets pleasure watching you be you.

Love is understanding. Nearly thirty-year-old Julie is just an ordinary government employee. She lives with her husband in a small crowded apartment in Brooklyn. Every time she goes to a class reunion, she is despised by a former friend who has a business of tens of millions. She felt like she was accomplishing nothing, and the fun of the day was to cook a delicious dinner to share with Eric. Julie talked about her childhood at the table, about the Burgundy beef stew that her mother made, and about Julia, with an inexplicable brilliance in her eyes. Eric sat aside, stopped all movements in his hands and looked at her silently, as if he too had touched the warmth of Julia's dream. No wonder some people say that this movie seems to be about women, but inadvertently created two Mr.Perfect who traveled through time and space. Eric, like Paul, loves the person he loves as he is, instead of her taking it. A case of hundreds of millions, which goes abroad countless times in front of TV every week.

Love is support and trust. Julie has always been envious of Julia's life. She and Eric were sitting on the sofa watching Julia's cooking show, and said to Eric with emotion that she was still wearing a pearl necklace in the kitchen! On her birthday, Eric gave Julie a pearl necklace. He told her that he had no money to buy expensive jewelry. Although the necklace was fake, it was exactly the same as the one Julia wore.

As for Julia, she's been trying to get her cookbook published, but she's been repeatedly rejected. Always optimistic, sitting on the sofa in frustration, Paul said to her, "You know what, your book will be published one day and someone will notice what you're doing. Because your book is amazing. Now! Your book is a masterpiece of genius! Your book will change the world!" Julie and Julia both succeeded, and their dreams that seemed out of place in their own lives finally blossomed in the company of love.

Love is meaning. Paul has been working as a brilliant diplomat, and after being investigated by the National Security Agency, he returns home very disappointed. He said to Julia, you still have your cookbook, and my work seems to be in vain. He may not understand that while cookbooks are important to Julia, the most important thing is the life she spends with him. A woman can have far-flung ideals and strive for them, but if they only love them, they can feel contented, just like Ellie in "UP", although she did not travel around the world, and spent her life with Carl, for her It's a happy enough adventure. This is also what Julie understands after completing the whole cookbook after arguing and reconciling with Eric: You are the butter to my bread, you are the breath of my life.

There is a vulgar saying about eating like this Yes, it's not what you eat that matters, it's who you eat with. Life is also a long dinner party. Although chicken, duck, fish and seafood are delicious, the real fun is sharing with others. The person who cherishes you will not expect you to make shark's fin bear's paw, or a bowl of white porridge, which is full of sweet taste.
