Narrative structure. . .

The plot is good, but it must be admitted that the director's narrative method is novel, but the structure is a bit too disorganized.
Diana died, but her friend Mei Lin was still alive. Mei Lin replaced her life and imagined herself to be Diana, which is also in line with the theme of this movie. Life is not what it is before. Then Mei Lin has been imagining that he is Diana playing the future life for Diana.
In fact, there are many small details in the play that can reflect the meaning of the ending. It was Diana, not Meilin, who really died. For example, Meilin likes to teach, and it is he who is married to "Diana"; for the 15th anniversary, flowers are placed on Diana's desk.
Under the heavy losses of violent friendship, human personality has been distorted, and what is happening in front of you is not necessarily true.

The Life Before Her Eyes quotes

  • Maureen: How did you do on that test?

Young Diana: I did ok, I got the one about the heart...

Young Diana: I don't really think that's true though, Maureen - -about it being the strongest muscle...

Young Diana: [crying] I don't think in my case it is at all.

  • Young Diana: [first lines - smoking in the locker room] That old bitch! I'm serious, if I have to jump over another pummel horse, or whatever they're called.

Maureen: You guys should probably put that out.

    Young Diana: Why?

Maureen: Shrankins is like 5 feet behind me.
