"One day when you're driving a big truck, you have to remember that I was the first person to make you hold the steering wheel."

It's past 22 o'clock since I got home from the gathering of relatives at my big mother's house.
Dad turned on the TV in the living room, and he went to the master bedroom to climb the bed and read the newspaper.
I habitually tune to CCTV6 channel.
I often watch the movies selected and released in "Best Movies Have an Appointment".
Surprisingly, it was a Brazilian film tonight.
<>. Also known as << Central Station>>, or << Central do Brasil>>.
I missed the previous film introduction and expert commentary, but when I entered the title, I couldn't take my eyes off it.

The bustling crowd at Grand Central Station, the filthy and filthy environment, an ugly old woman who made a living by writing and sending letters for others, with a few traces of cunning and elusiveness flashed behind her glasses.
She is Dora.
She was in the habit of laughing at the letters at her residence every day after work, shelving them, throwing them away and even tearing them up.
One day, a woman among the many passersby who asked Dora to write letters on her behalf was killed by a ruthless car accident, leaving a little boy under ten years old alone.
His name is Joshua.
They were walking on the road, one was looking forward to finding their biological father, and the other was trying to find their lost love.
In the end, their final destination is not so important.
In the tortuous and painful journey, they were unexpectedly restrained by each other, and at the same time, they were also subtly changed.

From start to finish, I took the film very seriously.
I regret my poor religious knowledge, my understanding of the whole movie is still at a superficial level, and I can't explore it in depth.

I'm the type of person who easily follows the movies.
However, I didn't cry until the subtitles started to scroll slowly.
Self-consciously <> does not have a particularly tear-jerking plot.
However, it is full of thoughtful ellipses.
Moved by the sentence near the end, her eyes turned slightly red.

"Joshua, one day when you're driving a big truck, you have to remember that I was the first person to make you hold the steering wheel."

They had all been close together to keep warm.
Despite Dora's deceit and Joshua's stubbornness, their backs leaning against each other still warms our eyes.

I think this is probably a story about walking, finding and redemption.
The use of contrasting elements, the unexpected turn of events... make my heart always go up and down unsettled.
Well, such a film doesn't need the sensational tears of tears at all, and the thoughts triggered by many situations in the film may be endless.

Well, we are all the same.
It is only after so much suffering that it is possible to find true inner peace.

I still remember, after guessing that Dora sold Joshua to a human organ trader, her girlfriend said, "THERE'S A LIMIT TO EVERYTHING, DORA."

And what I want to say is that if life itself gives us many limitations, Life teaches people how to go beyond them.

Maybe the stories outside the movie moved me more. Like "Why Home", the little male protagonist changed his life through movies. Kindness made him only tell the truth when he was begging at the station, kindness made him call all the shoe boys when he auditioned for the film. His kindness does not need to be tested.

Where is my friend's home? Where is my soul's home? In the Central Station of life, those people who love you, resent you, hate you, and miss you will eventually accompany you for a certain distance. Don't forget them, remember to miss them. If Ise sees me, ask me with sound; it is a man who is doing evil ways and cannot see the Tathagata. All actions are like dreams and bubbles; if dew is like electricity, you should observe it in the same way. The soothing and progressive plot shatters people's hearts.

Central Station quotes

  • Dora's Client: [dictating a letter with her son] Dear Jesus, You're the worst thing to happen to me. I'm writing because your son Josue asked me to. I told him you're worthless, and yet, he still wants to meet you.

  • Isadora: If you ever miss me, take a look at our little portrait. I say this because I fear that you'll forget me as well. I miss my father. I miss everything. Dora.
