The elder sister Eleanor represents reason. She fell in love with Edward from a family accident. She looked forward to his visit and learned that he was engaged. She faced and hid the love in her heart. She was sad and sat alone by the sea. It was not until the end of the film that her emotions were released instantly when Edward told him that there was no resistance from reality.
The younger sister Marianne is an emotional endorsement. She feels that she is more like a modern woman, who dares to love and hate, and does not hide her love and fight back when she treats others' sarcasm. After she experienced the frivolity of her youth, she understands that it is such a safe haven to accept the favor of such a mature man.
Jane herself is unmarried, but she is able to describe love so real in her writing, perhaps because love has nothing to do with marriage to a certain extent. She brings us every perfect relationship ending, because this is what every girl longs for and yearns for, whether there is or not in reality, Jane will bring us.
