Standard Template for a Failed Action Movie

This film is quite qualified to be an error correction guide for action film directors:

1. The plot setting is nothing new. The director adopted the old-fashioned type of "jungle hunting". Although it seemed to move the battlefield to an open urban environment, the seemingly creative "positioning system" greatly reduced the tension and excitement of the encounter.

2. The selling point of an action movie is of course the quality of the action design. It is a pity that although there are as many as 30 contestants gathered in the "Championship", among which there are as many as seven or eight top players, they do not show too much uniqueness in each person's skill characteristics and fighting style. With his unique characteristics, the French parkour master is one of the few bright spots, and the so-called former world champion, both in terms of image and skill, is far from the image of the peerless hero who is arrogant. His voice gave the impression of a complete idiot.

3. Failure of role setting. The main characters are basically bland, and only the perverted "finger-cutting" hand gives a little impression. The pastor who was supposed to be a joker could be called a failure to the end, and he was completely reduced to an annoying but lingering "Tang Monk".

4. Others include dull and boring dialogue, confusion of shot scheduling and so on.

The Tournament quotes

  • Father MacAvoy: God, I need a drink.

Lai Lai Zhen: You drink too much, and your eyes give you away. You damage your liver.

Father MacAvoy: That's just perfect. That's just exactly what I need. Health advice from a hit man.

  • Miss Hunter: [incredulous] What did you say?

Tech Eddie: There are no cameras in there.

    Miss Hunter: What about satellite?

    Tech Rob: They're indoors.

Miss Hunter: Did I speak to you?

[Miss Hunter turns back to Eddie]

Miss Hunter: There are 30 people in there who paid ten million dollars. We're in the final few minutes. I want everything and anything pointed at that fucking church!
