Like most apocalyptic films, the film emphasizes that the apocalypse originates from human beings themselves, from the unrestricted expansion of the self, which eventually leads to the annihilation of the race. But what is higher than ordinary films is that the physical existence of human beings in the film has completely perished, and the ultimate redemption is achieved by a divinity that is higher than material existence. Although the expression of this divinity is only limited to a few strokes that have appeared in a flash.
Humanity and divinity exist in everyone at the same time. Humanity is controlled by the brain, limited by material existence, and is a product of the cognitive process of the brain; divinity is far from the brain and is not limited by material existence. Time is asleep.
In fact, no matter whether it is a ferocious robot or the so-called puppet man No. 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9 with the mission of redemption, they all come from the same source. 2.5. and 9 have the nature of divine exploration, and they all have candles, matches or light bulbs that are very symbolic. And 6 is the state that is farthest from human nature and closest to divinity. It is a pity that the director did not dig deeply. 1 fully expresses the fear in human nature; 34 can be far-fetched to be understood as history and knowledge; 8 can be regarded as a kind of inertia, but it is insufficiently portrayed; 7 Fei Xia is completely a superfluous character created for the film.
The film itself has developed to the end, and I think the director and screenwriter themselves don't really know how to end it. I watched the interview with Shane Acker, and I was expecting to see a director who has insights into the divinity of human nature, but is limited by the limitations of commercial films, but I was disappointed.
In general, this movie is a little inspiration in the ambiguity under the beautiful appearance.
