This is a remake. The old version was shot in 1972. Of course, I wouldn't go to such an old account. And this remake won the Best Director Award at the Brussels International Fantasy Film Festival in 2009. The film has a good grasp of the rhythm, and the emotional ups and downs of the audience are well controlled. What is most appreciated is photography. For close-ups of characters' expressions, the use of long shots can easily bring the audience's emotions into the film. Fortunately, I downloaded the unrated version, so some of the more violent and murderous scenes are included in my eyes, and therefore I appreciate the director's ability to portray characters and character more, and the impression of this film will also be especially profound.
The first half of the movie is relatively depressing. Although people will explode when they are afraid to the limit, death is still in the hands of others. The second half set off a new climax, using violence to control violence, which was very pleasing, and the depression in the first half was also relieved. And the ending of the movie is also a happy reunion. If the ending is still depressing, then I think this movie is not worth watching, and it goes against the movie's main idea of using violence to overcome violence.
