half-baked spy movie

A half-baked spy movie with a dash of miscellaneous stuff, nowhere near as exciting as The Bourne Bourne or The Company.
The distortion of China in the film is nothing, it's just the China that American audiences want to see. But one thing is scary: it was explained in the movie that Elizabeth was a terrorist who blew up some CCP building in the UK in order to fight for human rights, and she was rescued as a matter of course in the end, just like a hero. This argument is very shameless.
In addition, this Elizabeth seems to be Mel Gibson's wife in "Braveheart", the one whose throat was cut.
This movie tells us:
1. A retired CIA agent who has only 282,000 US dollars in savings in his life, can't even buy a decent house in Shanghai.
2. There has never been any freedom of speech, and the media has always been politically manipulated, both ancient and modern, at home and abroad. It's just that China is so stupid now that it has to be scolded.
3. What a huge FujiFilm billboard on the roof.

From the film itself, it is a very good film, whether it is the structure of the two-line narrative, or the ingenious story itself, and Redford's excellent performance. Of course, the Western world has limited understanding of China, and often has self-righteous reverie, which makes this film too ideological and unrealistic.

The rhythm of the two lines is very good. China in 1991 is really like 19
