After watching this movie, I originally came to see the film review. I didn't expect to see another version of it in the film review pile after watching the switchblade on the screen. I thought Carl was quiet until he sharpened his knife to kill Dolly and that was the quiet the film gave me. What's in his eyes? How simple is the world with only kind Karl? Frank mother and son are good to him and he is also good to them, and further he loves them. How I wish he could live in peace with his new "family". The presence of Dolly made me realize that was impossible, and his straightforward love drove him directly to protect the mother and son. Carl understands that it is wrong to kill and he also educates Frank, but he still kills Dolly. He understands that if Dolly doesn't die, Frank and mother will not be better off. He killed Dolly to police the evil and punish the traitor, and it is justice, but I don't feel happy at all. Instead, there was a moment of sadness. It's not a pity for bad people to die, but it's not fair that good people pay for bad people.
