When he entered the University of Munich in May 1942, he and his brother Hans Schoo, who was studying at the University of Munich Medical School Hans Scholl (1918-1943) joined the anti-Hitler secret organization "White Rose" together. On February 18, 1943, he was arrested by the Gestapo when he distributed the sixth leaflet with his brother and another "White Rose" member at the University of Munich.
