Don't take my introspection to 80

I read it 2 times, 1.5 times to be exact.
I started to read half of it and didn't understand it, so I went back and read it again.
The inner world of a lonely old man is desolate.

A few things on the way:

1: Passing through his hometown
Isaac a few years ago, he fixed the meeting to his first love in his youth,
which seemed to be the best memory of Isaac's life,
and finally married back Isaac's first love was his cousin.

2: Approaching Isaac's mother's house
It was a lifeless environment, and his mother complained but complained.

3: Isaac dreamed of his wife's affair
. The dream was very tiring. The dream told us that the reason for the affair was Isaac's coldness.

4: Isaac's son has inherited this kind of character
and is impersonal, and he always speaks according to principles.

The above points are just appearances. Later, Isaac seemed to reflect on his indifference and became friendly to his servant and son, but his common sense demerit can be described in the words of a maid: "Professor, Are you sick?" "I don't like your tone of voice."

I'm thinking about what makes Isaac's character: selfishness, aloofness, lack of flair.

Family factors must be a very important reason: Isaac's mother, a woman who can only complain, Isaac's father, although not appearing in the film, but it can be guessed from the plot that he is also a stubborn and unfeeling person .

The conclusion is: a person's family basically determines a person's character.
As Isaac's son and father an indifferent.

However, the day after tomorrow, we can also get rid of this bad habit. What we need to do is to reflect in advance. We can't wait until we are 80 years old to reflect on ourselves like Isaac.

Wild Strawberries quotes

  • Dr. Evald Borg: It's absurd to bring children into this world and think they'll be better off than we were.

Marianne Borg: That's just an excuse.

Dr. Evald Borg: Call it what you want. I was an unwanted child in a hellish marriage.

  • Marianne Borg: You're a coward.

Dr. Evald Borg: Yes. This life sickens me. I will not be forced to take on a responsibility that will make me live for one day longer than I want to. And you know that I mean what I say.
