In a slum in South Africa, there was a young man named Sos, who worked in the underworld and made a living by robbery and stealing. His face was gloomy all day. In order to rob money, he and his companions stabbed a middle-aged man to death. In order to rob a car, he shot a woman without hesitation, and even beat his companions. Never be soft. All of this matches the name of the movie "gangster thugs" very well. However, just as Soth was about to leave the car he grabbed and crashed, he found that there was a baby in the car. Does it feel familiar? That's right, you should have watched a Hong Kong-made funny movie "Baby Project" this year, and it may not just be familiar - you can even guess the plot along the way: Isn't that what it is? It was the child who awakened the thug's inner conscience, and then human nature began to awaken, and finally this thug abandoned evil and turned to good! Yes, you guessed it right, it is indeed such a simple plot, such a simple story. Even the baby in the movie is not as powerful as the baby in the Hong Kong film "Baby Project": he can cry when he should cry and laugh when he should laugh. The whole movie just shows how this man with no smile but only haze softens his heart when facing a child.
At first, when he abandoned the car to leave, he didn't want to take the child away, but the child's crying was so loud that his heart was in chaos, so he took him home. When he woke up the next morning, he remembered, in a daze, what else was in the bag under the bed: there was another child in his house! At this moment, the boat was done. Although it was a burden, he had to find a way to support this little thing-even if Soth was a gangster, he never threw it away in the face of a baby, and he didn't even think about it. In this way, the child's cry touched the soft place in Soth's heart, and then the softness continued to spread gently. With the child's drag and entanglement, he can't be like in the past. Stealing and robbery are no longer the whole of his life, and he is no longer entangled and fallen like a machine.
Gradually, I saw another Soth in the movie. He was no longer indifferent. He wore a hat and trotted fast every day. I will also apologize to my partner! He was slowly making a painful break with his past life. Next, he took the companion who was injured by him into the house to take care of, to make money for the woman who was feeding the child and persecuted by him, and he also prevented the companion butcher from killing again...
When the child was returned, he was found by the police. In horror, he raised his hands.
When the mainland introduced this movie, it changed the name of the movie to "Redemption". Although it avoided the intuitively similar gangster-themed movies, it didn't seem so appropriate. The child's cry only touched the softness in Soth's heart, and what caused him to break with his past life was the drive of his own kindness.
When the softness in my heart began to spread, Soth thought of this question: Why are you still alive?
