Birdman is not a bird

I've been listening to this movie for a long time, but never watched it.
Recently, I read "Honor", a film appreciation book written by a film school teacher. The
beginning of the book was to analyze "Birdman", so I was very curious.
Professor Su Mu said that the film is "an almost impeccable application of film language, a
beautifully produced Hollywood film".
Honestly, this movie was pretty bad.
Not to mention its technology,
although it is a film from 1984, the film technology and techniques are quite good.

What I'm saying is that it's narrative, a lot of errors and omissions.
After watching the film, I insisted that what the
director wanted to shoot was not a bird man who was really mentally ill,
but a bird man who pretended to be sick in order to avoid war and communicate with people.
Al was right: "If you pretended to be sick to escape the war, then you did it! Speak up, Birdman!" The
film's narration is not uniform. Sometimes it is Al's narration, and sometimes it is Birdman's narration.
If it is an insane person, how can there be a monologue?
Their memories are not Al's memories alone, but the memories of the two of them together.
If it is a stupid person, where will the memory come from?
For a high degree of unity of narrative, see The Shawshank Redemption, which
is narrated by the black man from beginning to end.
I think the birdman should do the same, unless the birdman is not a real birdman.

The story goes that the bird man became more and more serious, and later took off his clothes and squatted on the edge of the bed at night.
I think it's very strange,
why does the birdman only take off his clothes and squat there at night?
Why do you put on clothes again in the daytime?
If it is really a neuropathy, are you still ashamed?
Is it intermittent neuropathy exhibitionism? Haha~~~
I think the only purpose of this treatment is for the director to show it to us, and to
tell the birdman to pretend to be B for the audience to see,
because this is useless to the story, the plot, and the people around him.
Because no one knows.
Birdman only showed us a pose in the middle of the night to show us.
Well, the director's goal has been achieved, I think this gesture is quite cool!

Birdman pretends to be a bird in the hospital, and it doesn't look like it, but simply twists his hands and feet together.
I think if the birdman really thinks he is a bird,
this kind of treatment is not enough,
not only the action, but also more like a bird in spirit and temperament. It
is very obvious here that the birdman is just an action.
Do you know how the birds move?
Birds will be afraid, avoid, or stare at each other vigilantly when they see strangers.
This is the nature of animals, and our birdman sees a friend coming,
just doesn't move, and then turns his head to look at the blue sky.
Obviously, he saw his friend coming and recognized it, but just ignored him.
The beautiful nurse feeds him, and even coaxes him. Seeing this, I believe that Al thinks the same as me:
Who the hell are you lying, and there are beauties who feed him like this, you are so beautiful! I want to do neurosis too!
So in the end, El didn't want to leave~~~~~~Wow haha~~~

Later, Birdman couldn't help it and finally spoke. Damn, I can't hold it anymore!
Birdman himself said: "I don't want to talk to other people."
Finally, on the roof, Birdman made a slow motion. We all thought he jumped off. It was a tragic moment!
Who knows the next shot, Birdman smiled and asked: "WHAT?"

Haha, when the comedy ends, you know it's pretending!
The director's intention is also the same, or the director will let him jump off,
the ending will be more moving and tragic, and more critical!
Obviously not.

There is a lot of narration and dialogue in the film, I think the director also told us to listen to it, and
it has a taste of performance.

Another point, I think the director's casting is quite a failure, both the protagonists have problems, or the performance.
Birdman has always wanted to fly, and he has always wanted to be a bird, so he should be unhappy. In the
film, Birdman laughs too much and is too ambiguous, which greatly weakens the appeal of the film.
Should be a little deeper.

I insist that the director is filming someone who is feigning illness, if not,
it's a failure!

Anti-authority, Birdy's method is to refuse communication, or unilaterally change the form of communication. Al tries to accept the given identity in a more integrated and inclusive way, but the strong war memory prevents him from continuing to overstep. It is difficult to judge these two paths, or it is simply the same process, we see two skins, but inside is a heart that keeps them alive.

The translation of the name of this movie is too good, but I really don't think this movie is good, I just think it is more interesting to see the war from this perspective.

Birdy quotes

  • Doctor Weiss: You mean the spitting?

    Sergeant Al Columbato: Yes.

Doctor Weiss: The army left a bad taste in his mouth.

  • Birdy: The dream is as real to me now as my waking life. I don't know where one begins and the other ends. I wish I could tell Al, but I'm afraid to. In my dreams, nothing holds me down. Everything's out and away. There's nothing in my life to keep me here anymore. I wish I could die and be born again as a bird.
