The story is very strong, and there are suspense everywhere. Although these careful thoughts are used badly in future films, it is impossible to tell who is learning who. It is a very watchable film.
What makes me find it rare is that the film puts the suspense on people's psychoanalysis, giving the audience a faint sense of oppression. With the lighter flickering in Barbara's glasses and the funfair music playing at the murder scene, the ingenious conception of this shot left a deep impression on me.
Hitchcock technically should be said to be the pinnacle.
