seek - our father

The first time I wrote a film review, I used such a title just because it happened to be Father's Day
- the inscription

"Central Station" just came to an end, and the biggest emotion was the ubiquitous color of faith in it. Not to mention the sacrifice on the way, the truck driver took the big truck with the picture of Jesus up to spread the gospel, and the men and women in the broken car chanted - Joshua, Moses, Isaiah, and their father Jesus - I don't think anyone who knows the Bible can sever a certain connection between the symbolism of the scriptures and the metaphors of the film.

Joshua was looking for his father, Moses was waiting, expecting, and of course, Isaiah's hopelessness in his desperation—no matter how desperate he seemed. And Dora, no matter how old a woman is, she has her own father. When she recalls the past with her father, it is so meaningful.

In fact, what I want to say is that everyone has their own biological father, which is an endless blood relationship; however, everyone has a deeper need, and needs that ta for us to rely on and grow with us. ta's inadvertent, intentional or unintentional actions, whether around or not, relying on memories, imagination, and hearsay, we will feel the existence of ta.

I think Dora in the movie is the best example.

Can't remember if Moses or Isaiah mentioned that Rio de Janeiro is all a liar, yes, Dora is a big liar, lying to illiterate passers-by, to Joshua, to the grocer, and even to friends who have been with her for many years , to deceive him that he met in such a later age (forgive me, in fact, I should not distinguish the level of these deceitful people, in fact, this deception itself is the same evil). In the unfinished confession that scared the truck driver away, Dora said, "God doesn't peek", however, the truth is, your own heart is sensing your As, weighing your beauty and ugliness. It's not about looks, it's not about lipstick, it's not about atonement after you've done something bad.

Of course, if you have made mistakes, you can only redeem yourself by doing greater good. From Dora risking Joshua from the big fat man, to nagging and complaining about accompanying Joshua to Dad just to avoid revenge, and then miraculously befriending Joshua... ..and finally made a well-intentioned choice to leave, leaving behind a kaleidoscope of longings from the old and the young; from the beginning, only to spend the least effort and earn the most money and turned a deaf ear to the complaints of the passengers in the station, and later taught them in reverse. Joshua can't tear up the customer's letter... We see a nasty person and become lovable - and there are always some cute moments and potentials in people.

I like Joshua. This little boy's eyes and demeanor are indeed sometimes unpleasant and do bad things, but there are also a lot of cute, smart, sensitive and mature displays. He prides himself, he insists, he hopes, he likes and dislikes. The most impressive thing is that he can tell Dora directly, you are a bad person and I don't like you, and at the same time he can tell her, I am hungry.

In fact, in the whole film, what we see is the growth of a child, a child is growing. Dora, on the other hand, represents the maturity of us who are no longer young, and mature alone.

Perhaps, life is a search, and we, like children who have lost their father's guidance, search for the meaning of continuing to live, and the search itself is the meaning. In the process of searching, we may be alone on the road, or someone may accompany us, but we will always experience the baptism and perfection of human nature again and again, and become more and more mature.

Postscript
- when no matter what, we can never be mature enough to deal with what happens. Even though Moses' craftsmanship had already surpassed that of Jesus, Moses still looked forward to his father's meeting. This is a bit like the paradox of life, the weakness of human nature, but I prefer to say it is the beauty of human nature. Happy holidays to all fathers and future fathers :)
