In 1960, he entered the Beijing Film Academy to study painting, film theory, and book illustration. Graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Beijing Film Academy in 1966. In terms of teaching, the main courses offered are: "Film Modeling", "Film Narrative", "Film Analysis", "Master Research", "Contemporary Chinese Film" and so on. Instructing master students in film narrative, film narrative and modeling, and oriental film aesthetics. 14 graduate students have been trained.
In addition to teaching, he also conducts research writing and creative practice.
