. . . .

The film talks about love, describing Sade as a dual personality, a pure writer who is both the embodiment of evil and the impulse to love.
The film does not discuss much about sadism itself, or there is almost no discussion, but focuses on the hypocrisy and repression of the religion of its time. As if trying to just say that sex is just natural. The strength of the analysis of evil is obviously not enough.
From this point of view, the film is a huge failure. It shifts people's attention from the evil of human nature itself to sex, which is extremely narrow.
