Failed Action Positive Theme

This film describes the biggest airborne operation of World War 2: Market Garden. Although this operation ended in failure, the themes presented in the film are still positive. There is no decadent atmosphere.
Much of the film is devoted to the British 1st Airborne Division (which wears a red beret, hence the name Red Devil). More than 10,000 people from the division participated in the battle and eventually only 1,000 returned. The losses were heavy, but the film fully demonstrated the fearless spirit of the Allied soldiers. Even the lightly wounded stood their ground to cover the retreat of the others, completely unafraid of the possible death threat.

In addition, there is a major from the U.S. military, who is the one who bridges the bridge. How does he look like Ross's father in Friends :) I don't know if comrades pay attention.

The German army was at the end of the line, but the British general did not listen to the soldiers' discovery of the tank, and it just fell in front of the German general all the way, one was surrounded by a large number of cheering people, and a group of bridges in front of them were bombed and needed bridge equipment to reach. . . The place where the materials were dropped was occupied by the German army, and the German general gave the British general a box of British chocolates. . So the bridge is forever, how to get there, but this film is also a kind of courage, history

The best war film of the 70s made by superstar Cast, especially the airborne period, was quite grand. And Anthony Hopkins when he was young.
