As if to echo this, for the first half hour, there was almost no dialogue. We are pulled bit by bit in silence into that frenzied thirst for freedom, even as the warriors in prison struggle to survive even the most basic of things. They resist violence with their naked bodies, write anger with excrement, and laugh at the absurdity of the world by squandering their lives.
Watching the janitor boy crying silently amid the din of roaring, laughing, and pounding sticks;
watching the prison guard with a numb expression quietly smoking a cigarette in the falling snow in the corner (this is also one of my favorite shots);
Watching bobby talk about the brave camping game of childhood in a casual tone, there is a smile on the corner of his mouth and
only feel as if he has become clean
Some people say that this film is too "dirty" Maybe they didn't see the final pure
ps for Michael already A sincere tribute that goes beyond dedication and dedication.
Personally, I think Steve McQueen, the only director of this genius "first work", will be described as great in the future.
