The first time I watched it was late at night two days ago - you really can't start watching "N&S" after 9pm, because once you start watching you can't stop - I stayed up until 1:30 am to watch the finale . Now, as I write these words, I'm reviewing the highlights with the fourth episode video open in a side window. Generally speaking, every time I finish watching a work that I like, I always watch the highlight again within three days. During these three days, I will like this work wholeheartedly, without thinking about why I like it, or whether the work is really that perfect, like a little girl who is in love with her lover. This was the case when watching Pride and Prejudice 2005, BBC 1995, 1940 and 2003. I watched Pride and Prejudice because I liked Jane Austen, the romantic ending, and the bickering and love affair between Elizabeth and Darcy. It was also when someone recommended "N&S" as an aftertaste of "Pride and Prejudice" that they started searching for "N&S". As a result, after watching "N&S", I suddenly feel that I like "N&S" even more than "Pride and Prejudice", although I am still not sure whether my heart is calm enough to evaluate "N&S" objectively.
I know why I love N&S, even though I can't quite articulate it. Margaret's strength and bravery are admirable, Mr. Thortn's gentleman, his inner feelings are tough, and his perseverance in difficult situations, Nicholas Higgins' vision and advanced labor movement thinking, Bessy's optimism in a serious illness...except The successful shaping of the characters, the meticulous and wonderful performances of the actors, all make people fall in love with this film. But not only these, as a TV series adapted from a famous book, "N&S" can be said to have successfully polished the visualisation of the text. The melodious and melancholy background music seems like a narrator sings about N&S gently in your ear, and it seems to bring you into the Milton Spinning Mill, into Thortn in the frown of sadness, or in the distant view of Margaret through the car window. Jumping notes lightly tap your heart, making waves in your heart, but not tsunami waves, but just waves of ripples, constantly, endlessly, as if your heartstrings are quivering .
I really like the society shown in "N&S", although the sky will be covered by dark clouds from time to time, but because people have a belief in their hearts, the sun will always shine on the earth. Similarly, the language in "N&S" is also endlessly tasteful. Mr Thortn's "It was her brother", Margaret's "I have a business proposition." will make people smile. The emotional expression between the characters is very subtle, but very clear, and the elegant British pronunciation makes it impossible to forget any scene in the play.
I haven't found any flaws in N&S so far, maybe I'll find some after this wave of love, but will that affect my love for N&S? No, absolutely not!
