This film involves a lot of things, family, friendship, love, mother, girlfriend, true love, fraud, money, traps, good doctors, bad doctors, and finally even the most cordial policeman.
But it is by no means a horror film. Compared with real life, it is neither scary nor frightening. It is almost an emotional film.
I'm glad it's not presented in terms of moral criticism. The one that goes further in this regard is "Eden Lake", which is really a horror movie; Happier is that Awake also has a moral ending, This is really pleasing to the psychologically fragile and superficial audience like me.
