Barbie's Feast 2005-12-05

Yesterday, I had nothing to do, and watched a good-looking movie "Barbie's Feast", which is a very dull movie for many people. But full of Nordic exoticism. I have bought this disc for many years. It seems that I bought it when I didn't have a DVD player yet. Never seen it.
Maybe it's my mother's puritanical life that resonates with me because it's so similar to the movie? I have no idea. Anyway, I've told a lot of people about this film, and they're not very interested. And I watched it over and over again. The translation sucks, but it doesn't matter, I don't need translation at all, just look at the pictures and I know it's what I want. In this remote and peaceful Nordic fishing village, the air is cold and clean. Life is really simple and quiet. The residents eat boiled fish and bread every day, and worship the Lord devoutly every day. Because everyone knows that the tongue is for praising the Lord, not for enjoyment.
There is a pair of beautiful sisters who also live here. Life has not changed. It seems that nothing has happened in the world.
Prosperity and fashion, disasters and wars, all seem incredible to this Peach Blossom Land. Even love came, but had to go. Because of this pure air, even if love appears, it cannot breathe and cannot become a secular marriage.
Two men who fell in love with two sisters, came here, fell in love, hesitated, and finally left. In the outside world, in the process of chasing fame and fortune, he got everything he wanted, one became a general and the other became a singer.
Such tranquility, a thousand years is just one day's repetition. Such a small village has its own order. Not pleased, not to have compassion.
But a woman named Barbie appeared. This is a woman with a story. Love comes and goes, the two sisters are still old in the end, but they can't refuse to be a woman who needs help in front of the aging sisters. Her miserable eyes don't need to say anything, but it seems to tell the war in Paris tragic all. So, she began to learn to live here, learn to cook, make tasteless boiled fish and bread batter, and serve two devout sisters. The only contact with Paris is that she trusts someone to buy lottery tickets. The days are as smooth as water, and 14 years have passed. One day, she hit the jackpot, Barbie was leaving, she could go home. Back to bustling Paris. She offered to cook the last meal for the neighbors and the old sisters. Prepare the materials yourself. The old sisters were flustered by this strange thought, but they could not refuse this last request. And the firm light in Barbie's eyes couldn't be denied.
The ingredients have been pulled back from a truck in Paris. The sisters had never seen such high-end ingredients. There was a distinguished guest that night, a general. Glory and dreams, **** one opponent after another, and get everything in the world's most prosperous, I think it's just so. But the beauty and purity of first love will never be forgotten. Here comes the general. So this meal became famous. The old sister acquiesced in this matter.
That night, one after another of delicious food came one after another.
Neighbors, who were still chattering about the sect, under the guidance of their tongues, as the food and wine slowly fell and their hearts gradually calmed down, they slowly thanked each other and became friendly. There was a distinguished guest that night, a general. The taste buds of the General in Paris are awakened after 14 years of obscurity. Barbie, who cooks and eats boiled fish and mushy bread, turns out to be a famous Parisian chef! In the end, everyone was satisfied and danced. The atmosphere reaches its climax but Barbie can't go back. She didn't want to go back either. She leaned against the door and smiled lightly and contentedly.

Because this meal used up all the money she had won.
