Green apples are sour after all

I still remember the shock and joy that Trainspotting brought me back then, but today I saw a work similar to it, and it was in the form of a TV series.

Couldn't resist comparing the two. In a way, Skins has completely surpassed Trainspotting. Skins' writing is undoubtedly world-class, and the plot is simply impeccable. The pencil pants + canvas shoes shape created by Trainspotting has swept the world today, and this trend still maintains strong vitality and has become a classic of British style. In Skins, the modeling of the characters in the play has reached the peak. As a man, I am deeply attracted by the colorful socks of Jal and Cass. As Cris said in the behind-the-scenes footage, "I don't know what they're going to make me wear for the next shot."

Mark Renton in Trainspotting opens with "Choose" and falls to the ground after a heroin shot, rotting beyond measure.

The first season of Skins is a little more sunny than the second season. In the first season, watching Sid being played with by Tony, watching Cassie cry secretly for Sid's love for Michelle, watching Cris run to his brother's grave after being abandoned by his mother and crying like a wronged child, watching Anwar being beaten by his uncle tease. This group of teenage boys and girls unconsciously trampled on their youth in crazy drug party sex, so real.

In the second season, when Tony couldn't even hold a pen due to brain damage in a car accident, when Sid watched his father die quietly after regaining his dignity as a man, when Cassie sat on Sid's bed and saw Sid and Michelle lingering , when Cris was dropped out of school, fell in love with JaL, worked hard to live a new life, and finally died in Cassie's arms, when Cassie escaped everything and came to New York, when Adam left her, Cassie sat on the bed and cried...

we After all, when I grow up, say goodbye to the youthful years soaked in tears, say goodbye to some people and some things.

I think that's why Skins completely surpassed Transpotting, the successful portrayal of multiple characters and the close connection to each other. This is the most perfect and best TV show I've seen so far.

Missing Cris...and the "Fuck it !!"...also missing Cass & Sid...and all the other staff...

Skins quotes

  • Tony Stonem: My last best mate's Maxxie. He's a bit new, he's a bit cool, he's a bit gay.

  • Emily: [behind her closed door, after Naomi knocked] I'm not going to open the door. My face is all puffy. I cried a bit.

    Naomi: I don't care.

[sits down on the front porch, Emily sits down, too]

Naomi: I do want someone. I need someone.

    [beat]

    Naomi: You're it.

    Emily: [teary] And?

Naomi: [crying] And... when I'm with you, I feel like a better person. And I feel happier, less alone... less lonely

[Emily sticks her hand out of the catflap to hold Naomi's hand]

Naomi: It's not as simple as that, is it? Being with someone?

    Emily: Isn't it?

Naomi: No. I'm mean I don't know. At least, I don't think so.

    [beat]

    Naomi: Emily?

    [beat, then sobbing]

Naomi: Can't we just sit like this for a bit?

Emily: [beat] Yeah, we can... for a bit.
